Friends,

I've been traveling for several weeks and away from Naznet (bad internet connections in West Africa!). So perhaps you've already had a discussion of the new mag, Grace and Peace. I didn't see a thread, so...

I'm impressed with the inaugural issue of Grace and Peace. It has articles of substance, and most are well written. Kudos to Bryon McLaughlin, editor of the new denomination periodical. The potential is great and the future bright!

I wrote a short review/announcement about Grace and Peace on my blog, if anyone is interested in reading it ... http://thomasjayoord.com

Did I hear correctly that all licensed ministers were to receive it? I have not, but my Lead Pastor did.

I don't know the answer to that, Greg. But when you find out, please let me (us) know...

I received it and have really enjoyed it. I think they did a great job! I did, however, chuckle about the cover story, which poked fun at church conferences (a subject worth poking at). Ironically, both the inside front cover and inside back cover are full page advertisements for church conferences.

I received it, as did our entire staff. I've glanced at it, since we are busy preparing to move. From what I saw, it looked good with some decent content. The irony of the conference article followed by ads for conferences is delicious though. It's like doughnut ads in Weight Watchers magazine.

I've read the articles on line, but have not received the paper copy. My colleague Heather received her copy a week ago.

I didn't find that so ironic. The article doesn't poo-poo conferences, but suggests that it's unrealistic to think that attending a conference is some sort of magic bullet.

Likewise, Weight Watchers isn't anti-donut. :D
