Yes, someone sent me another huge file -- after they checked the edited book over, they read it, and returned it with just a few more little changes they wanted to make.

The crazy thing pops up the page saying it's checked, and it's virus-free. Then there's that box that you always click that says: "Download attachment."

WELL, this thing is a few MB's. However, it keeps saying, after clicking on that DL place, that it's "done," when it's only DL'd something like 25 kb ... and the DL box says something like "Log-on verify," as tho' it's picking something totally other than the DL itself off the mailbox page, or something ... having to do with the mail (log-on), rather than the actual attachment I'm supposed to be DL'ing!

ANY ideas at all?

Thanks!

BTW, have tried it over & over & over ..........

OK, got "smart," and just saved it to "briefcase" (on-line), to see what would happen. Well, it did let me actually DL it from the mailbox briefcase (about 2/3 done already). Perhaps they just have some huge glitch at the moment, where "download attachment" is plain not working for anyone, since it is letting me DL from the briefcase, after moving it there.

Thanks for any other handy ideas, in case this doesn't work for something else I need to DL, too, that didn't want to.

I'm glad it's finally downloading for you. You asked for any ideas. Here are a couple.

To start with. Make sure you are not trying to do anything else at the same time, like checking naznet. Let the download have all of your computer's resources it can get.

Sometimes when a computer is acting sluggish or stopping in the middle of something you just need to reboot and start over.

Funny thing, I was checking and writing to NazNet while it DL'd from the briefcase; in fact, it suddenly was DL'ing about 2x the speed it usually does ... something like 5-6kbps rather than 2.5-3kbps. It just plain old would not DL from "download attachment." Would guess from that that it had something to do with Yahoo's "download attachment" 'thingie'/program.

Yeah, I've sometimes rebooted when things really slowed down, but this time it depended on the place of origin, apparently, since it did a fast DL (well, "fast" for dial-up ;)), once it was "briefcase" rather than "DL attchmt."

Thanks, Joel.
