I went to Bed after the OU interception. It must have been a great ending.

The fact that Boise State isn't playing Ohio State for the National Title boils down to politics.

Internet was out yesterdy. So it is about time I got on and say despite the fact that my doctoral work was done at the University of Oklahoma, I am a Boise State Bronco fan. Even when I was attending OU there was a bumper sticker put out by the School of Education, "First in football, 49th in education." In Oklahoma football is not a sport it is a religion. Many of us at the doctoral level cheered for the Sooners opponents even then. Yes, my neighbors heard from me when I stepped to my open front door and gave out with a loud whoop at 11 PM. The downtown scene portrayed on local TV was a bedlam of celebration but to my knowledge no distruction. I almost expected what have been described as "trick plays" because they practice these plays on a daily basis. Now I want Florida to beat Ohio State and then who will remain as the only undefeated team in the nation. You bet Boise State Broncos.

I thought about it -- but was sure glad I stuck around. It was one of the best finishes I have ever seen.
No kidding!

Yes!!!
I am one of those foolish folks who thought that it was over after the Sooner interception and went to bed (it was 12:30am on the East Coast and I had just completed a 9 hour drive home in the rain from Boston), as I had to get up at 6am.
Congratulations to Boise State!
But, having received a Master's degree from Ohio State (I was there the year Woody Hayes punched out the kid at the Peach Bowl), I will still root for the Buckeyes over Florida.

Bob and Mike you are forgiven for going to bed before the game finished. Cindi, and I thank you for your support for I am sure we Broncos had yours. Happy New Year to you for the win made my day.

I'll agree that it was the best college game I have ever seen. Being a long time Dallas Cowboy fan I have some great memories of fantastic finishes. One is Staubach's "hail Mary" pass to Drew Pearson on Thanksgiving. That was the pass that not only won the game, but coined the term! After the game when Roger Staubach was asked about the pass, he said, he just shut his eyes, threw the ball, and said a quick "hail Mary."
Another memory is from another Cowboy Thanksgiving game. It was late in the game and Staubach went down and had to be taken out of the game. The back up quarterback, with no time to warm up and little or no real game time came in. With seconds remaining, Clint Longley, threw the winning pass. A couple of years later, Longley hit Staubach in the face while Staubach was taking off his jersey. Longley was traded, and never did much in the NFL. On that one day though, he was the hero for the Cowboys.

I had the privilege of being at the game. Finally back home in Idaho. I am a season ticket holder for Boise State Football. Looking forward to another great season next year but it will be almost impossible to beat this season.

Greatest college bowl finishes -- Ohio State over Miami a couple of years ago, especially given all the drama with fourth downs and penalties.
Texas over USC last year -- Vince Young taking it into the endzone on the final play.
I do say that given no one was thinking BSU had a chance -- then having the hook-and-ladder, then the statue of liberty plays....man, that was exciting. Top three for sure.

That one probably cost me a year off my life due to the stress! If I was stressed, my Dad was most likely having a heart attack! (Just kidding)
