Recently it is taking my laptop about 20 minutes to boot up and connect once I turn it on. Last night at one time it was taking about 5 minutes going from one screen to another. I was doing some work on a part-time job I have and it was taking forever. I'm not sure what the problem is.
Tonight I think I'll run the defrag and see if that helps any. I noticed these problems after I loaded norton.

I updated my Norton a couple of months ago and the same thing happened to me - for a few days. It seems that it starts from scratch analyzing everything and making sure all is OK. This can take awhile on large drives. Once it has gone through all that, the system speed returns to normal. Patience might help in this case.
Be sure to backup important files you may have while the system is still operating - just in case something really bad is in the works.

GET RID OF NORTON!!!
You may notice you will not be able to uninstall norton. Call them and sort it out that way.
Really complain to them.
I now use Avast. It does not slow my system down like norton does.
