Please keep these states in prayer! as this winter ice storm is expected
to break power lines in all of these areas. If so I along with many others will be without electric My home is total electric.
The ice is already coming down
Heating homes is a major concern, especially for the medically
compromised persons and the elderly
I do not have a generator..would not know how to set it up if i had one. will probably have to help staff the hospital if and
when others cannot get to work.
I live 5 slippery miles from the hospital. However others live
a much greater distance.
Thanks so much
Judy

Meterologically freezing rain or ice storms are called "crystal storms," because the results of the ice hanging from tree limbs and twigs take on the appearance of a crystal chandelier. Yes, I know how treacherous those can be and will be praying for your safety. They can be common at this time of year when a cold front descending from the Rocky Mountain slopes rams into a warm moist air mass from the Gulf. At other times of the year the same conditions can bring on bands of tormados or severe thunderstorms.

When power goes out in Pefferlaw I just make my own electricity... Usually I end up powering three houses. And sometimes Gord's sump pump...
Only in Pefferlaw.

I just got your voicemail and email. We have already gotten the Emergency Operations Center covered tonight and tomorrow.. Thank you so much for volunteering. We might have to open a shelter and would definetly need your expertise as an RN, if interested. The DSHR group and the local Disaster Action Team would be the first people contacted. I will keep you posted.

Just talk to my son in Lawton, OK, said they were iced in and more predicted. He has a construction company there, so he does have a generator if his electricity goes out. Says it is big enough to supply
his entire house. Hope things clear up and everyone stays safe and warm.

We've had light freezing rain here all day. It's not bad yet.
For Sunday, from WHO TV in Des Moines;
"A snowy forecast for Sunday with much of Iowa under a winter storm watch.
It will be heavy and blowing by Sunday evening. Totals for the metro: four to eight inches. Even more in southeastern Iowa.
Be careful on the roads!"

I will pray that the storm does not knock out power. That is a real stress at these times. Michigan is in a tizzy since Thursday not knowing where it will be. Marsha your party is safe if I have any pull. :p
Joel, is that a picture of Red Green next to your name or is my stick off the ice?:basic05

Yep, that's Red Green. I used to dress up like him for Halloween but no one noticed I was dressed any different. The women don't find my handsome but they find me handy.

Hello All
there are now around 95,000 homes with power outages in Oklahoma and the same number for Missouri. Equates to about 600,000 people without electricity
Many of those, so fragile in nursing homes have been evacuated to Hospitals and the Red Cross has supplied generators for some nursing homes. Please pray for the well being and peace of the elderly who live in our midst.
I just checked on my elderly neighbor.
I am not totally young myself, however i am doing well
If i lose power please check on me
405 514 1957 my cell and i can recharge the phone with my auto charger
Thank you for prayers for the people and the livestock in this portion of the USA
