Yes! In Numbers 22
28 Then the LORD opened the donkey's mouth, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?"
Of course this is the occurrence that is recorded in the bible. As anyone knows, this may be the first recorded instance of a donkey speaking, but by another name we hear them all the time now.

Oh, Billie,
You are so funny....and so right. LOL
I answered here instead of on your thread because I read this one first. Then I saw that you had asked the same riddle on your thread.

Loraine posted it here to keep it from getting lost. I hate to keep making more threads -- what is your opinion? I have a lot of riddles if people are interested -- should each one be in a thread of it's own?

Perhaps the stillborn baby of Ecclesiastes 6:3-5 --
"Say a couple have scores of children and live a long, long life but never enjoy themselves—even though they end up with a big funeral! I'd say that a stillborn baby gets the better deal. It gets its start in a mist and ends up in the dark—unnamed. It sees nothing and knows nothing, but is better off by far than anyone living." - (MSG)

Would keep current readers from having to wade through those who just get around to seeing a thread days or even weeks later . Just my opinion . You can check out the subject before clicking to save rereading ones you have seen before . Thanks , I got this one , too. Much easier than that first one ! ! Thanks for sharing .

No Gord, not it.
I think I will post as different threads in the future. Your point is well taken Marg.

Sorry Carsten, I moved this to a separate thread -- it was one of the riddle numbers. The answer was Lot's Wife.

In such case I have always a good reason, "English is not my mothertongue, I misunderstood the question".

It [English] is supposed to be mine, and I am constantly amazed at how many times I can totally wonder aimlessly through it!
