Here is another of the Challenge series:
Take a picture that uses sunlight creatively. Your picture must use sunlight as it's main source of illumination, although you can use reflectors or fill flash to enhance the image.
Rules:
No Archive shots, even if you posted to the original thread please go shoot a new picture.
The idead behind the challenges is to motivate photographers to go shoot new pictures that meet the criteria for the challenge. It's like you're a working professional photographer that has a client that needs a specific picture. You have to create an image for them to use.

San Diego does not compare to the natural wonders of Utah Canyons and Parks and BLM areas
however I am up for visitors...if you are the least bit serious, this is an expensive place to room and board
and I can handle man and wife..or gal friend and another person
however even that did not work well as Dana snored, Tyler was sleeping on the blow up mattress
so I slept some in my bed and a little in my easy chair
anyway this is a lovely city, with flowers and ships and coasts and beaches..I still miss
the Utah hikes and the ooh aah
moments

I followed the challenge directly. This picture was taken mere minutes ago, so it wasn't an archived shot. Sunlight was my main (actually, only) source of light. Granted, I used a couple of reflectors, but still, light only from the sun. :smilies0041:

These were taken last week at Ormond Bch, FL. Sorry, Jon, I'm not going to go back to the beach to grab these pictures again...although I would certainly LOVE to do so! :)
The first two images were taken around 6:00-6:45 AM while sitting on the beach waiting for the sun to pop over the horizon. Did I mention that I saw a dolphin feeding, but could not get a good shot. He was fast and all over the place. Oh well.

Taken around 6:40 as we were loading the car and getting ready to head home.

I wish I had a graduated filter for the sun, but overall I was satisfied.

In Ohio, we have a tradition of spelling out O-H-I-O with our arms and bodies. It's just a little shout-out to Ohio State and people get their picture taken all over the world spelling out OHIO. Well, we couldn't do that because we were in a deserted Civil War fort and there were only 4 of us, so Elizabeth came up with an alternate idea. The Native American word for "Ohio" is actually "Oyo." So this is what we did. We used the strong 11:00 AM sun to silhouette the girls.

Looking into the Florida "jungle," I was fascinated to see how the sun illuminated the fan of the palmetto. It was just beautiful. If I had to take the image again, I would try to remove some of the other sticks and branches from out in front of the palmetto plant as they are very distracting. I still love the lighting even with the distractions. :)

Okay, this has nothing to do with the challenge, but I challenged myself (after my post just prior to this one) to do a little Photoshop voodoo. Since we didn't have enough people to do the O-H-I-O photo, I had two of the girls pose for each half of the image, so I could afix them together at a later time. So, here is my result. Two sets of twins? Maybe? :smilies1722:

I took this fifteen minutes ago for another forum's cloud challenge, but it fits the category of natural sunlight too. :o

Here are some more pictures from my cruise to Bermuda and the Bahamas. I like the orange glow of the sunset.
