Here's a bit of advanced NazNet Usage for those who what to subscribe to RSS feeds from specific forums.

Here's the concept: you are going to type a web address into your browser that will let you subscribe to the forum of your choice.

First some basic concepts. Each forum has an ID number. You can find that ID by resting your mouse pointer on a forum link and then looking at the bottom bar of your browser.

For instance, if you want to know the ID of the Forum: NazNet Power Point Discussion you rest the mouse pointer at that forum, and then look at the bottom of the browser. You will see that that forum ID is 11 because the "f=11" part of the URL means "Forum ID 11."

Now, say you want to subscribe via RSS to a specific forum. The basic url is:
http://www.naznet.com/community/external.php?type=RSSNow you are going to add the forum id to that link. For the technology forum, it looks like this: &forumids=10

The whole url, then looks like this:
http://www.naznet.com/community/external.php?type=RSS&forumids=10If you can add the forum number for any forum you want to subscribe to to receive it via RSS.

Ha! Needless to say, if you don't know what RSS is you don't need to worry about the instructions.

Looka there, Scott! Don't underestimate Marg. She's way ahead of the crowd - even the crowd 10 or 20 (or more) years younger than she is!

As for me and my dial-up connection, Marg - we don't do "regularly changing". I prefer to make my own decisions about what to squeeze through that narrow pipe and what to pass over rather than sharing the bandwidth with a bunch of automatic updates. It's a nifty concept, though.

One of these days I'm going to "just do it" - call our ISP and tell them to come out and punch holes in our walls to set us up for the wireless option that recently became available. I think it will actually cost us less since we'll be able to dump the extra phone line. But if I manage to overcome the simple inertia standing between me and a high-speed connection, who will serve as an advocate for the shrinking roster of backwoods people with slow connections?
