Any thoughts on the ads?

Did I see correctly that Prince tossed his funky-looking guitar into the crowd at the end of the halftime show?

I just went for the party. I didn't WATCH the game or the ads! Pastor spoke at half time, so I didn't see that either.

Very demeaning and insulting.

We don't get to see the ads in Canada. The American feed gets preempted by Canadian channels for Canadian commercials.

I only saw about 5 seconds of the half time show and was too distracted by whatever it was Prince was wearing on head.

I don't like his music anyway.

So I flipped the channel.

He was wearing a bandana to cover his head because it was raining really heavily. You only saw 5 seconds of it? I thought the half-time show was the most exciting part of the super bowl!!! You don't like his music? Oh no - I think I found the first issue that I disagree with you about! LOL :basic05

I enjoyed the halftime show. I am a fan of Prince and I thought he was far better than the Rolling Stones pathetic performance last year.

On top of that, it was a good game.

I know about do rags. I've just never seem them tied with the floppy bits hanging on the forehead. :-)

Hey had to happen sometime Laurie :-)

Pastor Carl was trying to figure out why you sent me the picture of Prince. So I showed him this thread. :-)

Pathetic? Describing the Rolling Stones as pathetic?!? I was just recovering from Barbara not liking Prince. Now this? I may need to rethink my NazNet membership! LOL :basic05

I've watched all the Super Bowl adds on YouTube. I think there has been a massive decline in the standard of humour this year. I counted two chuckles and four smiles, when in past years there has been many laugh-out-loud moments. I guess that is another sign of the decline of the great American society.

The Rolling Stones are not pathetic, but their Super Bowl performance last year was. Mick Jagger sang more wrong (or pitchy) notes than right ones.

Some of Prince's songs have racy lyrics so I can understand why he would offend some NazNet sensitivites.

We didn't get to see the half-time show. We had a video with football players and coaches sharing their christian experiences and their witness. It was very good. And of course the game was great, GO COLTS.

At our church super bowl party we watched the half-time show, but mostly just made fun of Prince. We enjoyed some of the commercials. One of the best was for a candy bar where 2 guys were eating off each end of it and ended up "kissing." They jumped back and said, "Now we gotta do something manly." So they each pulled out a hung of their chest hair. I heard that this ad has been pulled because the gay rights people found it offensive.

The superbowl is not about football. It is about alcohol, comercialism, and rediclous half-time nonsense. I do not waste my time watching the thing. I'd much rather high school or midium or small college football where you can some developing quality and good competitive spirit.
