We are getting hammered with snow tonight! It started right on cue around 1:30 this afternoon and continues to come down hard. We still have several more hours of snowfall and school has already been canceled for tomorrow. Well, I will still have to drive 2-hours to the MVNU extension in Columbus tomorrow afternoon. I'm hoping the people on the salt trucks will do their jobs!
Pete? Still hate snow?

Isn't Pete a People anymore? Please say it isn't so. Steer into your skid not away from it if it should happen. You will recover control more quickly. That is unless you are about to go over an embankment. Doing a 360 and getting hit may be preferable to going over the embankment or through a guard rail. I have driven a school bus in the mountains of Idaho so this is my advice for what it is worth.

Here in northwest Indiana the snow has stopped but the roads are still yucky. I have all the faith in the world, however, that street crews will have the roads cleared in time for my kids to go to school in the morning. My city has the best road crew, IMHO!

We only got about 2.5 inches in NE Indiana. I hear Indy got more like 4 inches.

Cindi, I hate snow also and was relishing the fact we were without snow for a while. Well let me clarify "I hate snow", before Christmas fine, no problem, just after Christmas and in February...oh please where is spring? The birds in our neck of the Beavercreek woods are soooo confused:basic03

Poor Kevin Angel, he is leaving Jefferson, Ohio to take Parkside Church of the Nazarene in Auburn, CA. He is really going to miss the snow and cold; it is 57 and rain out here. The things God asks some people to do; it just doesn't seem fair.

Some schools still closed today, most on 1-2 hour delays. Oh the joy of living in the country! I left for MVNU yesterday and it was 30F and dripping could be heard everywhere. Of course, I had to break a path through 7 inches of snow to get to me car. Coming home last night...3F.
I'm ready for Spring.

Took 2 hours to get home, jacknifed semis.,40 car pile ups, stranded motorists, numerous accidents... frozen water pipes, cold that goes to the bone....

There have been some of those multiple-car pile-ups on freeways around here, too, on various days lately.

We wound up with 8 to 10 inches but it didn't drift as bad as they said it would. It was a light snow and easy to handle. Roads were sort of bad for a few hours but not unusually bad. The roads are clear and dry now but parking lots are like a hockey rink.
