I heard an interview on AFA Christian radio yesterday with a Christian from North Korea. He said that if you become a Christian in North Korea you have to decide whether to leave the country or keep it a secret. He said that the school system has ways of tricking your children into admitting that their parents are Christians and then the Christians are arrested and/or persecuted. They are denied government help and hindered in finding/keeping employment. Further education is denied to the children.

I think it is important to be reminded that Christians in other countries are not always safe...and to pray more for the persecuted Church/Christian.

You are so right. I remember back in 1985 just turning on the TV and an ad from Slovak Gospel Mission came on asking people to write in for a prayer request card, so I did and the card that came back had a picture of Gorbachev and listing of some unidentified pastors and churches that were in need of prayer. It stated that Gorbachev's mother in law was a Christian and that we should pray that her influence would bare fruit on his leadership. I think that it did. Glasnost and peristroika
