Anne and Dwayne Hood
9th February 2007, 02:34 AM (02:34)
yesterday. Rev. William (Bill) Dever passed away at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis yesterday-February 7th 2007. He was around 80 years of age. He leaves his wife Mikki Dever, two daughters, and grandchildren.
Dwayne followed him as pastor of the Millington Church of the Nazarene in 1983. Then, a few years ago, he reitred from the pastorate, moved to Memphis, and they joined the Millington Church. They were
a great inspiration for the Lord. They sang together like the old fashion
song evangelists that we use to hear in days gone by. Lately, he has been in a nursing home, and his wife in an apartment for the elderly. Just this month, she changed their membership to Memphis Calvary, where Rev. Lynn Holmes is the pastor-due to the fact that he was not able to attend church, and she did not feel able to drive to Millington for each service. Her daughter and her husband take her to church with them. But, she still planned the Christmas Contata in December, as she has for the last few years. He will be greatly missed, but we will still have the privilege of seeing her occasionally.
He will Lay in State at the Calvary Church from 2-3 p.m Saturday, and the funeral will be there at 3 p.m.
