He wears white tee shirts and blue jeans most of the time. :)

He, also, wears cowboy boots, but I think you can still be a redneck and not wear cowboy boots! :basic01

Carolyn, have to tell you again that I appreciated spending a couple of days at your home while "trucking" across the US from AZ to MI ... redneck, or no. ha! ;)

Is a pair of genuine Texas Alligator boots. Last time I checked, the big western store in Houston had them for $1,700/pair. I never wear cowboy boots, but I would those!:fav18

$1700 for a pair of boots??!?!?!?!

I wonder how many pairs of basic shoes that would buy for the shoeless.

That's why I havnt' bought them.

My Doug is as conservative a spender as they come.

The cowboy boots that he has on in this picture are Lucchese Classic Ostriach Boots. Our son that lives in NH bought them for Doug five years ago.

Scott, also, bought him a less expensive pair five years ago that Doug wears for ever day wear. They still wear good and feel good on Doug's feet. He has had them resoled and had new heels put on them. They can be worn forever when they have worn out soles and heels replaced.

Then last year Doug bought a pair of "used" Justin Snake Skin Boots at Cavengers Western Wear for $50.00. I have no idea what they would cost new. They fit and feel good on Doug's feet. They look new.

Then, our son that is in the military, gave Doug a pair of black Ostrich Skin Boots fifteen years ago. Those boots still look nice and feel good to Doug when he wears them.

That son, Alan, makes cowboy boots. Leather working and cowboy boot making is his hobby. He, also, puts soles and new heals on boots for people.

So, Doug has four pair of nice cowboy boots. He will probably wear them as long as he lives. Did I mention that Doug has trouble finding shoes that fit and do not hurt his feet? He says that one of his feet is smaller than the other one.

Anyway, Doug is tight with his money. No one can accuse him of being extravagant.

He would most likely would never spend $1,500 on a pair of boots. But, if a person gets twenty to thirty years of good wear out of such a pair of boots, do the math. They probably are not any more expensive than a pair of regular men's shoes that are replaced in a year or two.

I'm happy for him to have nice cowboy boots. :basic01

Isn't jumping out of a perfectly good airplane a kinda expensive hobby? :)

He is a Scottish Coventanter?
Scottish Conentantors signed the covenant , often in their blood. Wore their blood smeared scarffs around thier necks, hence term, "Red necks"
Doug should be proud. :)
