    Re: New Upstate DS?

I agree with your observations about the personality/style of each. Kevin Dunlop seems pretty similar to Clarence Hildreth but there will certainly be some significant differences. I didn't get to...

    Re: New Upstate DS?

    Greg,

really good question. i wish i had written it all down.

The DAC explained the process then presented one name.

Each church had the opportunity to contribute to the district profile: 3...

Re: Mama said there'll be days like this

    Marsha,

We have replaced our projector with a 50" TV on each side - we only had one projector on one side only, each TV was about $400. The very sharp images of a tv are superior to projectors. ...

    Re: New Upstate DS?

I think we officially open the assembly in an hour. Accept the report on ordinands which approves them.

I'm not on the dab now. I think they could tell us the name to write on our ballots. But I...

    Re: New Upstate DS?

I appreciate Billy's comment and clicked laughing even as I am a loyal upstater, but born and bred on the New England district.
The full analogy (if I remember the movie correctly) is that the Bad...

I'm traveling out today for Upstate's assembly after church. I am not a delegate (neither is Lori) we are just the drivers. Tonight is the ordination service and tomorrow is a full day of meetings...

    Re: Compitetion between Nazarne Schools

A few have mentioned some ideas that have been going through my head for many years now. The CotN has 100% control of US colleges but contributes only 5-10% of the annual budget and a decreasing...

    Re: Oord's Termination

    Dave,

I think Karl makes an unnecessary assertion regardless of his data. Does it matter whether a less-educated demographic is urban or rural, suburban, exurban? On Upstate NY most churches are...

    Re: Replacing pews with chairs

    Jim,

I don't know who you are calling "Pastor Doug". I don't have a license and not even a learner's permit. For some reason, a lot of people make that mistake.

But thanks for the info. It...

    Re: Oord's Termination

Yes in defense the announcement of the gift - unrestricted endowment funding comes to mind or unrestricted capital funding. I doubt that a single large gift was intended to close budget gaps.

    Re: Oord's Termination

Asking awkward questions is the most important job of a trustee.

I hope your district nominates you to the NNU board for election.

Re: Has the sun set on Sunday school?

Usually I just start searching around the NPH site. I have seen some flyers floating around but I have no idea how old they are.

With regard to the apparent repetition - we make sure that we don't judge a book by its cover. :) However, it might help to make sure there are different colors - 50 shades of the Dialog series. ...

    Re: Snow pictures, anyone?

The first one is our new kitten watching her first snow in November. It kept her entertained for hours. You might be able to see the flakes flying by the window. (taken with an iPad mini)

It's the same issue in Upstate NY - winter and summer look an awful lot alike.

    Re: Snow pictures, anyone?

    Dana,

when I get home I'll post some pictures of snow. Some are on facebook already.

I think I'll try to make it a "challenge" : pictures that tell a story.

So if others have a winter...
