    Hot Christmas gift this year.

For adults I predict it to be the ipad mini.

    What's your prediction?

I like it, although I am a little put out that they changed the connector.

Don't know that I'll get one though. This year is going to be the year of the GPS for me. Garmin Montana 650T

To know and to serve God, of course, is why we're here, a clear truth, that, like the nose on your face, is near at hand and easily discernible but can make you dizzy if you try to focus on it hard. But a little faith will see you through.

The new Samsung Galaxy Player may be popular. It's essentially the GS3 without the phone component (or, to put it another way, Player is to GSIII as iPod Touch is to iPhone). for people who like the idea of an iPod touch, but prefer Android, it's the best option out there.

Why would you need a smartphone and a GPS?

That's Verizon with that issue, not AT&T. If it even is an issue...

I imagine that's a pretty small (and shrinking) pool of buyers. iPod sales keep dropping as more and more people buy smartphones.

I have no idea. I imagine Amazon will sell a lot of Kindles (all kinds) like usual. I wish they (and Google) would release sales numbers, so we could compare them to Apple's.

I imagine the most popular gift will be gift cards.

No that can't be it, cause that was one of the reasons I stayed with Android, and I've got a couple of car docks that turn the droid into a windshield mounted GPS.

The Montana is a waterproof GPS that has a pressure sensitive screen so it can be used with gloves on. And it's for snowmobiling, I keep the smartphone in a heated bag with a charging cable, the GPS is going to get dash mounted.

What's an angry bird? I'm going to play the Jim Franklin card on this one! The last game I've played was Duke Nukem, on an IBM PC 4.77MHZ

We are thinking about giving a heifer or chickens to people in third world countries in the name of people we usually buy gifts for. What is the best organization to handle these donations?

Changing the connector was a fail IMO on Apples part. They already have a special connector for their devices and wont use a micro sb like.........everyone else. I pretty much got a 4s instead of a five for that reason. I have a ton of connectors for my ipods that will work with it. That being said as a guy who has made the switch to an Iphone, I have to say this is the best phone I have ever owned. If other Apple products are as intuitive as this then I may become "gasp" an Apple guy

John , I have given from the Canadian NCM Gift Catalogue for several years now I have decided this year to not give several smaller items but concenrate on the larger ones I can afford like pigs ,goats , sheep . I see this year they even have cows .
The report froml ast year's giving :
$1000 went to purchse pigs for girl's club's in Ghana , over $ 20, 000 to build houses and provide fruit trees , vegetable seeds , and household items for 30 orphans and 8 widows living in " village of Hope " in Bangladesh . $8.000 was sent to purchase school supplies ,teacher's supplies ,health checkups , nutritious lunches for school childen in the "Communitry of Peace " in eastern Sri Lsanka and $ 7,700 funded 20 cows and 40 goats for pastors in Bangladesh .
As you can see there are many in the less costlier items so I feel its better to get larger .Last year I gave $300 worth total for 3 friends who have everything and they seem to appreciate it . You do get an income tax receipt . I didn't realize that the first year I gave so upped the amount my second year to take that into consideration .
Here;s where the catalogue is :

I disagree. I think the connecter change was overdue, if only for the fact that the new one is reversible. It's a pain at night, plugging in my iPhone 4 in the dark, trying to get that charger connecter right-side-up. Micro-USB would've been the same kind of annoying. Plus, with Micro-USB people would be trying to hook all kinds of random things up to their iOS devices (since the connecter fits) only to be frustrated when they don't work.
