    Bible Software

I'm looking for some good bible software that will let me read and compare a passage of scripture in various languages and translations. So far, I know of Bible Gateway, which is a website, not a program, and thus inaccessible when I don't have internet connection, and Xiphos, which is good, but it doesn't have most of the more common translations.

Does anyone have any suggestions of good (preferably free) bible software for Windows 7 or Ubuntu 10.04?

I'm using WordSearch from NavPress (version 5). I think they are up to version 7 by now. I've been using it for years. Once you have the various translations, you can open how ever many of them as you want.

If I needed to buy it I would look for version 5 on eBay or something like that.

e-Sword and the Word are two that I believe are free to download and use, and I have an old WordSearch with KJV that was free.
Thanks Charlotte 'Mercer' Burton, Shea Zellweger - "thanks" for this post
