    Mt. Lemmon in Tucson

Yesterday, my friend and I went up Mt. Lemmon here in Tucson. It was a beautiful day and much cooler up the mountain than down in the valley. Lots of clouds, which made for some interesting cloud shadows and dark/light contrast. Here are a few pictures I took.Click image for larger version

It has been a long time since I have been up there. When we lived in Tucson, we visited Mt Lemon often -- usually in July or August.

Dave, you should go visit there again. They had a massive forest fire there a few years ago and most of the little village at the top was burned down. They've rebuilt, put in a lovely community center, some restaurants, a general store, and some gift shops. And, of course, the beautiful scenery is well worth the drive.

Dana, I came home today. I came down on Thursday and we had a wonderful couple days together with David and Vonda. I wish I could have stayed over for Sunday, but needed to get back home. Vonda wants me to come back down sometime the first part of September, and you, she, Elizabeth, and I go on a photo-taking day trip. Wouldn't that be wonderful!!! :-)

Norm helped me do a little cropping on one of the pictures, and I think it looks much better.
