    Waterworld (1995)

Finally saw this (I know, I know).

I remember this movie getting horrible reviews when it first came out. I understand that it was a let-down due to how much it cost to produce. But I enjoyed it. The special effects left a lot to be desired (even after only a 15 years), but I enjoyed the story-line and characters, as simple as they were.

I like Waterworld. It's a long movie to sit through and Kevin Costner's not the best actor in the world, but the story has always been intriguing to me.
    ...just my $.02.

I remember going to see this, and thinking "if dirt is so rare, how come everyone is so dirty?"

I enjoy post-apocalyptic movies in general, although I have observed that more recent ones are far more hopeful than those of the 1970's (e.g. Planet of the Apes). My favorite moment in Waterworld is at the end, where it is revealed that the remaining dry land is the peak of Mount Everest; meaning that it was the only dry land left on Earth.

Only seen bits and pieces of this. Watched Book of Eli the other, it was pretty good.

I enjoyed it too. It seems both Waterworld and the Postman got bad reviews and I liked them both. I may just start watching all the movies with bad reviews so I can be sure to watch stuff I like!
