The Red Sox are abysmal right now.
So I'm watching the Bruins. And they looked good tonight. The NHL playoffs are great. Very exciting.

I love playoff hockey. The NHL and the NBA are much better when something is on the line.
...just my $.02.
As far as excitement goes, the only sporting event comparable for me is March Madness. It's all on the line.
Hockey is unique among the pro sports in the US. Every goal is HUGE. If you're down by 1, you need to score two goals to go ahead. In basketball, you can be down by 1 and you only need one basket to go ahead. Not in hockey. Baseball, a walk and a home run scores 2. Football...I can't begin to explain that. Even MLS has rules where you can tie and still be the winner. So every goal is big in hockey. I think that's why every team kicks it up a gear in the Stanley Cup playoffs as the Bruins clearly have. Seedings don't mean a whole lot either. Upsets aren't uncommon.
All this to say, I enjoyed game 3 too.

I remember watching the Avalanche win the 4 OT game in the Finals, I think it was 1996. That was one of the most exciting things I've ever witnessed. I still remember - Uwe Krupe scored the goal.

Is anyone betting on the Sharks?
Just wondering![]()
I don't care who wins so long as it goes into overtime.
...just my $.02.
Let's go Predators... da da da da da!!
Edited to add: Hockey is hands down my favorite sport.
Montreal Canadians
Vancouver Canucks
Ottawa Senators
There. I feel all better now.
That game last night between the Bruins & Sabres was awesome. Great stuff. Bruins up 3-1 now.

There was nothing better than playing hockey on the pond after school when I was growing up. I LOVED it. More than any other sport.
I'm fatter, older, and out of shaper now, so it's not as much fun. But winters in New England were the best as a kid, and this is partly why.
