As mentioned here previously, we live in Central Illinois which is not only corn and soybean country but also flatter than your table.
Top.
We don’t have mountains, we have hills. And some of them are a wee bit higher than a speed bump.
Well, I got to thinking about our our local products one morning, while stirring some “non-dairy” powdered creamer into my coffee. I just wondered if maybe there might be some corn and/or soybeans in that stuff, or at least a by-product of them. Got to support the local farmers, you know.
I wish I had not done that.
Now my heart was gladdened somewhat when I read that this creamer indeed contained a good portion of "partially hydrogenated soybean oil" - in fact that was the second item listed on the label. (You do realize that the ingredients are listed in the proper order, right? That the first ingredient is the majority of that product, etc...so that the last item has the least of it thereunto. Or whatever. Did you follow that?)
But then, reading further, I discovered that my creamer also contained such wonderful ingredients as . . .
Dipotassium phosphate...now friends and neighbors, what IS that? Kinda makes me wonder if I'm a dipo for putting it in my coffee each morning. Then there's . . .
Mono (my brother had that once) and Diglycerides - Guess it's not enough to put just MONO but they also have to put DI which of course means MORE than MONO glycerides into my coffee. Oh me. Shall I read further? Guess I might as well plow on. . .
Silicon Dioxide . . . Didn't the Dow Chemical Company get into HUGE problems because of "Silicon." And you mean that by my adding this stuff to my coffee, I might . . . mmmmm . . . never mind. I don't think I wanna go there. Not at this juncture!! But let me just say this. No never mind.
I'm already in trouble, I know!
Maybe I should resume approximately this time Thurs with my fresh and refreshing (yeah, right) thoughts about breakfast cereals.
Till then, then?
I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday in Him.

Ps - Isn’t God good?!
