    Is my Game on?

For those who do not have the various all-access Cable and Satellite packages, we often wonder whether our local affiliates will carry the games we wish to see. Mike Schutz has found a link which answers that question for the NFL 5 days before game day.

No, your game is not on, no go out and enjoy some sunshine in the park.

"Sunshine?" Sorry, but I am not familiar with this concept.

Does anyone else find these maps, indicating which games are being shown in a particular area, fascinating?

For example, I want to know why there is a little section of Nevada that is getting Cincinnati-Denver this week, when all around them San Diego - New England is being shown. Or why that same area is geting Kansas City-Detroit, when to their immediate east folks are seeing Jacksonville - Jets and to their west Oakland-Buffalo.

I've noticed similar things in the past. On several occasions, it looked like the local affiliate was carrying the game of a hometown hero. But if one area is getting two distinct games, that's kind of odd.

Mike, that looks like Area 51 (I am not joking). Perhaps the population of a military installation wants different games?

Also, it may be completely out of any broadcast range and this getting network games via cable or sattelite; if that's true, there may be licensing issues.

What I couldn't find, googling, was Detroit's next game!

    #5, I believe ... day/time? Thanks.

the506 has changed their site a little. Here's the new NFL link http://www.the506.com/nflmaps/

Gina, if you're looking for date/time, you can go to any number of sports sites- ESPN, sports.yahoo.com, fox sports, etc...

    Re: Is my Game on?

Thanks, Shea. What's strange is how, when googling, articles kept coming up about various aspects of previous games, players, etc, etc ... even when asking re schedule. Oh, well ... learning experience, I guess ... that google's not perfect, after all.

We've moved this summer, we're still technically on the outskirts of the Philly media market, but we get channels from both Philadelphia and Baltimore. Looks like I'll have extra options for games most weeks!!

As usual, the non-Eagle game they show in the Philly market is a New York game. So, instead of seeing the Pats, I will have to watch Jets-Bills. Of course, when it is the Jets, there is always the chance of a great sideline show from Ryan's lovable bunch of misfits.

You can come to our house and watch the Pats; they're playing on the Baltimore station.
