Question at Bible Study last night
by a younger Christian. Where in the Bible does it refer to "being slain in the Spirit?" Our moderator along with a retired elder both affirmed that there is no mention of such an event. We then went on to discuss the experience of Sanctification as both and instantaneous release of our will to the Holy Spirit and a growing maturity. Some used the terminology of "having the Holy Spirit" to which I responded "when the Holy Spirit has the individual." Both of which I deem to be accurate statements.

If you are referring to slain in the spirit as charismatics would reference, the first thought is Paul's experience on the Damascus Road. I think there are many places where people would fall (many voluntarily) to their knees. Would be extremely weak support for the concept.

The only reference I am aware of that could be characterized as "slain" in the Spirit is Ananias and Saphira in the book of Acts.
