Re: Who will be the last person to add to this thread?

One of Marg Shurtliff's comments caused me to wonder: just how close could I get to another thread without being moved there by a moderator? Or shot by my fellow thread participants? Thought I would try ... although I admit that I don't have a clue as to just what "Post Traditional Theology" is. Here's my CE Thread contribution ... although a week late.

On our first ever trip to Wisconsin recently, my wife was stuck in a tree-hugger's conference in Milwaukee. So I took the Badger Bus to Madison to see the state capitol. (Don't ask ... it's just something that middle-aged Midwesterners do. And I have a beautiful shot of the building in Augusta, Jim.) Well, it was lunch time and all the building workers were outside protesting the governor. A subtle irony. They all gathered on the street and sang union organizing songs. Songs I had learned back in southern Ohio and eastern Kentucky in the 60's. And I knew ALL the songs. You could almost imagine Pete Seeger leading us. When their lunch hour was up, they all went back to work. And on the ride back to Milwaukee, I wondered just how close ... or how far ... Madison was from Matewan.

Warm today with thundershowers promised. We need them. Have a good week y'all.

Hey that sounds like a neat day! I've actually never seen the State Capital in Augusta. I've been to the Capitols in Boston and Providence quite a few times. And I've seen the Capitol in Montpelier, VT from a distance.

Hey out here we have this thing called the ocean that tends to draw us!

Just 2 posts added this time and mine got 15 hours , 18 minutes being last .

Steve , I have never moved a post yet even though I think I can do so . What really impressed me was you spelt my first and second name correctly . You surely get a gold star for that ! So many times letters are added to my first name and the second name is regularly wrong . Kudos to you ! (Couldn't find a gold star ! )

I have to admit Marg, that more than once I've had to remove the "e" that seems to find it's way onto your name when I type it.

I saw a mountain lion today. My co-worker and I were on our daily lunch time walk when she pointed it out to me. It was stalking something down in the river bed. I've seen bears, deer and a lot of coyotes up here but this was my first mountain lion.

Hoping that your weather is good up there today Marg. It seems that the rain has once again decided to visit us for a couple of days. I do require a day of rain for testing purposes though. I'm finishing up a house addition and the lawn grading is especially tricky because the lot is level and the grades are very slight. I finish graded it yesterday, and today will be a testing day for puddles.

Glad your having a nice day, and yes the test went well. Only one puddle about an inch deep and it's within 10 feet of a drain, so a shallow trench with pea stone in it should keep it dry. I was worried about it because the whole side yard is within 6 inches of being perfectly level.

Where has the time gone! Where is everybody!

I've been off at District Assembly since Wednesday, what a great time we had there. This year was different as we didn't have conventional pastor's reports with nickels, numbers and noses. Rather we had churches report on activities that have reached out to people and made a difference. It was incredibly uplifting to hear the stories.

And what an honor, my wife and I were asked to sing for the NMI convention and I sang for the memorial service at the Assembly. Very nervous to sing before such a distinguished body of folks.

Just so you all know. I had the opportunity to speak with our Mark's pastor at district convention. He said that he would relay the message that we miss him here. And that he missed out on #7777

And this time, only a couple of hours. It was such a beautiful day today that we decided to hike around for a few hours in the woods and show our beginner boy scout little guy just a little bit about how to find his way around outdoors. We ended up doing about six miles, and he's now all tuckered out.

Back from a few nights camping in a National Park in Kentucky. No shirts, no shoes, no (cell) service. And no "Showers of Blessing", at least of the precipitate kind. (Can I use a verb like that?)

Sure am glad for the A/C .Current temp here is 71º. No storms yesterday but still forecast for today . I slept with my bedroom door ajar, even though I prefer it closed, in case it stormed and BB wanted to be nearer me . Guess it'll be that way again today .

Oh good, because it's really a lot of work to stone someone. I mean the rocks are heavy and one must practice, and if you don't get enough people, and then there's always somebody who doesn't bring their own rocks. It's a lot of work.

Plus it's a long drive out to Illinois and they prbably have good security on an Air Force base and all that.

So thanks for the clarification, you have saved us a lot of work!

I predict that this post will get about two minutes!

It was 97 here today and I got to grade a foundation hole and set up the forms for the footing. Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the nineties again and I've got 12 yards of concrete coming.

I'm gonna lose some weight, I'm determined!

Re: Who will be the last person to add to this thread?

7 posts added this time and mine got 11 minutes and 7 hours and 31 minutes .

When I was out today the humidex was 108º. I sure am enjoying our warm weather this year . Far nicer then the 3 or 4 days we got all last summer . Glad I'm not working outside like Jim , though .

Morning all! Looks like another nice hot day today! They are saying that it might hit 100. I've got a couple gallons of water, I'm ready for it and I'm heading out the door!

Longest day of the year was yesterday, we are over the top and headed back to winter! I'm excited.

Although I'm trying to be a little more realistic than a friend of mine.

To know and to serve God, of course, is why we're here, a clear truth, that, like the nose on your face, is near at hand and easily discernible but can make you dizzy if you try to focus on it hard. But a little faith will see you through.

Such a great post, Jim. I thought to just click "Thanks" and let yours ride ... so to speak ... but the lure of 7878 brought me in.

Hope we're all here for 787878.

Way to go , Steve . You got a snarf ! They just pop up ever so fast sometimes .

I'm out to meet the girls for breakfast . ( Actuallly may be one husband there ) .We meet at Cora's , a delightful place for breakfast and lunch . Thinking of having what they call Asparagus , Swiss Cheese Ben et Dictine . Have a coupon for a free beverage and I think that'll be orange juice as its great there but super expensive otherwise .

Hey, Jim, how do we know but what that "friend" of yours under that helmet is not, in fact, you? You know the old story, "I've got this friend, you see, doc, and . . . ."
