Oui , Jim . Toi!
If you like Gina and I could start a support group for you to help you see life as it really is . I'm sure she'd be willing to help you with me remove those rose tinted glasses from your eyes .You'll then be able to see clearly again and realize your lack of winning . ( Or for that matter any of us winning . )
And by the way , Gina Happy Birthday !!!

Thanks, Marg. I feel a song coming on, too!
Here ... take your pick, folks, & enjoy! Love this song!
Anyway, the first video is a singer on stage, the other has some pleasant graphics illustrating that bright, sunshiny day.

Hope you can get out and do something pleasant today , Gina . This of all days you need something good to happen . It can't make up for what you go through daily but a bright spot would be most welcome, I'm sure .
By the way , good pick up on that song , Gina . At first I wondered where that came from . Put it down to bedtime .

Good Morning you wonderful people who hang out here!
Happy Birthday Gina, sure hope it's a good one and that you have a pleasant day somehow!
Marg, I'll be hanging on to those rose colored glasses, I've had them since birth. And I really like them!
I can still remember my mom telling me when I was 10 or 12, "With all of your lofty dreams your going to see a lot of disappointment in this life." Ha, ha ha, was she ever wrong! Aim for the stars and then stand amazed that you got even half way there, much more fun than not trying!

Thanks. Hope so ... awoke to a nasty remark again, after last night's mouth being nasty enough, had to calm myself down, take time to recover, rather than be productive! Where most of my energy goes ... staying alive/recovering from "crap," when it would be more desirable to use it for real living.
Ho-hum .......

Morning All!
Looks like a hectic day today with a whole bunch of folks showing up this morning looking for direction! Just got to find me a good pair of rose colored glasses and then it's out the door.
What a great week we had at camp last week, Gary Bond brought us a series of wonderful challenging and down to earth messages on holiness. Already looking forward to having him back with us in four years. Or maybe sooner if I can get him hired at one of the other camps?![]()

Great day today, got a bunch of stuff done.
And it looks like we are doing three camps this year! We were scheduled to sing a couple of nites next week at Portsmouth Camp, and then go on to Smith Mills to bring sound. Apparently the sound people at Portsmouth were either unaware or unable, and they bailed. My brother in law called me in a panic, so it looks like we will be doing sound at Portsmouth as well. Until Thursday when we need to go to Smith Mills. So I need to train someone and cobble together enough spare equipment for the final four services at Portsmouth, no pressure.

Sounds like busy days ahead , Jim . They will be good ones though and wish I could experience some of that as well. As long as you don't forget us here .
Marg
Very good days ahead! I love Campmeeting! There is a real sense of community there.
Every year it ends the same way. On one hand I wish that it could go on forever, and someday it will! On the other hand, I'm usually completely worn out and exausted and welcome the opportunity to rest.
Which reminds me of Tim Hortons! Cause I'm going to Maine after camp!

Poor little beast! Sometimes we have to comfort them, although it seems that most of the time they provide us with comfort.
I need to leave work early today to get to church and set up our Pastor's new wireless mic as a surprise for him. So I'm going in early, don't want to be a slacker.![]()

Marg
Worked out as planned! Got in a full day, and made real good progress. I got to the church just a little before 6 and I was wrapping up the tools just before 7PM Bible study. Pastor is excited about having a mic again!
Had a neat day today as well. I worked until noon and then off to Boston to meet up with an elusive naznetter who is here on vacation. He was detained for a couple of hours so we rode around Boston, my wife has a zillion pictures that she wouldn't have normally gotten, and a great time was had by all!
Now it's off to bed, so I can get in real early tomorrow, because Saturday morning at 10AM, I need to meet up with Steve and Nate Adams to get the platform set up for Portsmouth Camp.

Morning all!
No chance to post yesterday for sure! Left the house at 8AM (yeah I probably could have posted earlier, sorry for that.) and loaded up a second sound system that we will need for Portsmouth Camp as we need to leave them with a system when we leave for Smith Mills on Friday. Arrived at Portsmouth at 10 got set up, ran a couple of sound checks and practices. The afternoon was spent transferring the soundtracks for the week from CD's to iTunes. Evening service at 7 finished at 9. Then hang around with folks for a while and drive home. Made it back just before 11PM.
Slept very well!
Off to church this morning, but I need to leave when I finish with the music. 1/2 hour drive to Portsmouth, then take down the stage and reset for an afternoon concert. Practice at 1:30 concert at 2:30. Then reset for the evening service at 7, with a practice at 6.
Up and at them!![]()

Jim . I got tired just reading what you were going to do today . Better you than me . Hope the day goes as planned .
Marg
Just got home Marg! The day went very well!
Hopefully, I'll be off to work tomorrow at 6, and get done at 4 so that I can get to camp for supper at 5, practice at 6 and service at 7!
Got some good news tonight. One of my cohorts is staying in his family's cabin at Smith Mills. He offered that I pick him up on Friday morning, the two of us can pull the system down at Portsmouth, set them up with a backup system and then move the main setup over to Smith Mills and get set up there. Now all I need to do is find an operator who is willing to stay behind at Portsmouth for three days. One step at a time, the Lord will work it out.

Morning , Jim , and anyone else who may wander over here .
Marg
Thanks for passing along the greetings, Jim. It's been a long time, and I only lived in Xenia a short time just after college, so I didn't get the chance to know Steve as well as I would have liked. I remember him as a very nice person who was extremely talented, and who was kind to the new kid in town (i.e., me).
But it does remind me of one of the few things I remember about Xenia ... and my only Steve Adams story. Feel free to share it.
Xenia CotN was a very large church (at least compared to my home church at Sciotoville). They had an ambitious music program and an outstanding organist. I think Steve was the choir director/music minister or something like that, although he may still have been in school in Indiana or Illinois.
One night the choir was practicing music that Steve had written or arranged. Steve was directing. I was accompanying on piano. It was loud. The choir was thundering, the organist was pumping, and I added an extra note in my left hand. It was not discordant, though, rather like playing the E in a C chord, when Steve had wanted only the C and G played. He noticed and remarked on it .... something not more than 1 out of a 1000 people might have heard. That's when I realized what an exceptional musician he must be.
Anyway, I remember the church and Steve fondly, although I've not been there in 35 years or so. Please say Hi for me.

A very accurate description indeed. I can tell you that this is the Steve I know, incredibly kind, almost unbelievably kind and incredibly talented. His ear is still that good, I'm amazed at the things he hears, and I'm humbled that he trusts me and calls for me to run sound for him and sing with him whenever he is in our area.
