Gina , I have a TOPS meeting every Thursday evening and don't get home till close to 10 or even after . Then I have minutes to do , write my family and then I get to check NazNet . Sometimes its after midnight .

It's 33 up there right now because there's a front coming across, but it's supposed to dip down to 2 tonight with a high of 29 for tomorrow!

Hopefully the week will be in the thirties as Rhonda and little Danny aren't exactly fans of the cold.

I'm having some real fun now!

Spurred on by a few naznet conversations of the hair greying flavor, I have decided to take our church out on a whirlwind historic concert tour with the one and only Isaac Watts!

We are going to start out in the Old North Church where Paul Revere handed a couple of lanterns off to church sexton robert Newman and we will be singing "I Sing The Mighty Power of God"

Then we are moving across town to a larger venue, The Old South Meeting House where a bunch of fellow met as Sam Adams incited them into having a tea party. We will be singing "We Are Marching To Zion" in that cavernous old sanctuary!

We will be singing "I Love You With The Love of The Lord" as we greet one another!

Next up is the offering and announcement, I have a recording at the ready of an long note played on the organ to get us into the key of F and we will stand and sing the Gloria Patri, before moving on with Isaac.

Now we are going downtown to the Boston Common and Park Street Church where Julia Ward Howe's "Battle Hymn of The Republic was sung for the very first time. We will be singing "Alas And Did My Savior Bleed" while sojourning in that historic church.

For our final number we will be heading just across Tremont Street to the Tremont Temple Baptist Church where my friend Geoff Hicks is the minister of music. This church was built as an affront to slavery, barring it's doors from the first day onward to anyone who participated in the business of slavery. Charles Dickens read "The Christmas Carol" here for it's first public reading, D.L. Moody referred to this church as "America's Pulpit" We will be singing "When I Survey The Wondrous Cross" here and we will be adding Chris Tomlin's lyrics ending to it. I hope that Isaac approves!

My first full year here we had a rotten winter as well. Finally, the first snow arrived in March 2007. So it is possible I guess to have winter come. I hope I hope I hope.

One correction though. I had gone from memory with the comment about Julia Ward Howe, good thing that I checked it.

Turns out that Edward Beecher was once the pastor there, his sister was abolitionist Harriet Beecher Stowe. And the patriotic song that made it's debut at park street was "America" Glad I caught that one in time!

I'm thinking that it will be fun, and hoping that the immersion in history will help for the words of the songs to speak. This is my last Sunday in "ordinary time" I'm off next Sunday and then I need to get into the "Ashes to Fire" mindset. We aren't doing the whole program, my pastor and I have gotten the journals, and I've got the soundtracks and the songbook. We are going to read the material and use it for inspiration toward our program.

41 right now when it is close to 2pm.

Last night for the first time in 18 years I got a full 8 hours of restful sleep before Church. So during SS, I kept poking Dad, tickling him, tapping his ears with my pen, tapping his toes with my toes...finally at one point he says to me "I think I liked you better when you were half asleep on only 4 hours."

My cell phone is acting up ... thot it was just the camera and then suddenly the messages quit working, too.
Checking how much memory is left, seems to be plenty. I am careful w/my phone ... not sure what is going on.
Thot it was maybe ok to just let it go and just carry my camera, too ... but no messaging ...???

Maybe they would suspend my $5.00/mo for 200 texts/mo until upgrade time, since it is in May, while I thot it was not until September, since I got this in September. SOOOO, guess they use original purchase month for upgrade eligibility, since first ever cell phone was May of '02 ... AND I used them yrs longer than the two recommended. Makes me wonder if they began getting sloppier w/troubles i have had in less than two years this time.

Having a BA in history, and fond memories of my trip to Boston when I was a kid, I would enjoy that.

It went real well this morning, most everyone said that they really miss me every other week when I come up to Maine. Which is where I'm at now. When we left the church it was 48 degrees and bare ground, and now? Presto, it's now 10 degrees with a couple of feet of cover!
