Re: Who will be the last person to add to this thread?

High today is to be 45º but currently the temp is 48º. Rain or snow for Monday but at least the showers for Sunday have gone .

I was glad I had an intro course in philosophy at CNC where we looked at a variety of philosophers . When I went to Ottawa U my CNC courses weren't credited and I again took an intro course but we studied only 2 philosphers - Hume and Descartes !!'( real narrow ) I was glad I had a good grounding before . Later I took a half course in Philosophical Anthropology taught be a priest and it was much better .

Marg, have to say thst I recall enjoying the stimulation of considering various philosophies, too (@Olivet). Recall, too, that when we had to pick someone for a report before that time (high school) ond time was Rene' DesCartes.

Marg, learned the other day that in Canada folks can ask for a cup, but in the US one cannot go to Tim's and just ask for a cup, but must send and ask for one via mail(!) when I drove thru & asked for one. So much for "no purchase necessary." A 45c stamp + envelope is more than "nothing," plus no time left for that. Oh well ...

So I just learned to ignore that and just move on. I've also learned that usually you have to be picky about what you take away from certain philosophers because they will usually stay with their logic and not be able to see even if it is contradictory.

For me, it seemed worse with Philosophers though. Maybe cuz with politicans I can turn the channel but with a philosophically minded friend of mine, I couldn't turn her off.

Yeah that could get annoying, I just make them mad so they shut up. I usually just say I reject your premise and then don't tell them why.

24 posts but 14 by one person so not really that great ! Mine got 1 hour 45 minutes , 49 minutes and 5 hours 37 minutes .

Gina , I have never tried to get a cup without purchasing anything at Timmy's though I know its says no purchase necessary. If we had to write for one it'd be 66 cents wasted as we have to pay HST on stamps , so add another 13 % .

Thot w/mentioning there were several between your church/home, and stopping frequently (it sounded like), that it did not involve a drink eqch time. Sorry for misunderstanding. Anyway, they said, too, that they had nothing but large left (expensive, unless they would give a small/medium drink in a large cup, to give the customer a choice, just so they bought their required "something" -- but definitely better chances up there, sounds like), so did not get any.

But Steven . 10 posts in a row by the same person is not a conversation ! lol .
I always thought you needed at least 2 to make a conversation .
8 were addressed to the same person . The other two to another. Two posts would have done fine !

It is 84 degrees on the mountain which means it is probably over 100 degrees down the hill. Last weekend we had a snow storm that gave us about 6 inches of the white stuff. Crazy California!

Looks like 1 to 3 inches of rain tonight and I have an open foundation hole just waiting for it. Time will tell, will it be a muddy mess or will it become a swimming pool and a muddy mess.

    Then again............This too will pass!

Current temp 39º and yes we got snow . Early this morning the world was all white again .Then it went back to rain a few hours later and there are only small pockets of snow about. More tomorrow , then no more snow till Friday . These aren't quite the April showers I like !

Rained most of the day here. Hope your snow melts Marg, I wonder if the snow came far enough east for Susan?

Tomorrow looks good, I've got to get some work done and get to a place where I've got the minions busy working so I can get down to Tampa for a few days.

Current temp 40º . Saw on the news where a kid built a snowman here . It was at least 3 to 4 feet tall. Didn't think there was enough for that . More snow flurries tomorrow but Friday has me a bit concerned " periods of snow ! "
Maybe our calendars are wrong and its really November !!

Yes , I know . I always say we can't depend on winter being through with us till at least the end of April though we have had snow in May but I chose not to remember that . But after the winter we had this doesn't seem quite right !

Congratulations on the palindrome snarf Marge! #7557

Really, we should send a note to Mark!

Sorry you didn't get the snow Susan, I heard that western PA was supposed to get plenty. Of course they only have two seasons out there, Winter, and Road Construction!

To know and to serve God, of course, is why we're here, a clear truth, that, like the nose on your face, is near at hand and easily discernible but can make you dizzy if you try to focus on it hard. But a little faith will see you through.
