Converting 8 mm movies to cd or MP3 or what?

I have a bunch of 8 mm movies.

I know years ago I checked into getting them put on a CD, but I wondered if there were some new process or place to go to get them done.

I am sort of nervous that they might be destroyed in the process and want to make sure I find a reliable source for the conversion.

We found a place in OKC and the cost for converting 18 movies to one CD is going to be around $100. To make sure it happens, this price sounds reasonable.
