I'm curious to know what everyones favorite subject to photograph is?
Why is it your favorite?

I like to photograph bright colors in nature. Although, currently my picture taking is more theme based. What pictures will fit the theme of advent, of Christmas, of winter, of spring, etc. Or I might take a pic if it seems to remind me of a verse. The picture below was chosen because I thought of that verse, not because I was fascinated by the scene in front of me.

Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. 1 John 3:18
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. 1 John 4:18a

I like landscapes, especially in good light.

Children being children. I'm not a photographer by any means, but there's just something about my candid shots of children at play that melts my heart. One moment in time is frozen forever and in that photo they'll always be young, carefree, healthly ... I don't think it gets better than that!

Leave it to Dana to list a bunch of favorites instead of narrowing it down to one like Everyone else!
Those moderators.... they never follow the rules..... ROFLOL!

I prefer taking pictures that are published later.
Sometimes years later.

Except for one thing........
Next weekend I will be shooting the official engagement photos for my son & his lovely Ema.........
So by then, I may change my mind.......
Oh, decisions, decisions!!!
me again.
Dana,
I think that everyone will let you slide by on this one... family engagement pictures are an exception, not the rule...
Be sure to post the images, I want to see what you've learned so far... No pressure from me or anything....
Jon
AAAAACCCCCKKKKKKKK........oh the pressure of it allllll............
Hey, Jonathan, one good thing that has come from all of this teaching you have been giving me.........I may not be the best photographer, by far, but I have come to have a little more confidence in myself, and I am enjoying the pictures I'm producing these days, whether they are technically perfect or not. I still have TONS of learning to do, but I'm content to learn little by little, and as long as I keep getting better, that makes me happy.
So, in other words, you don't SCARE ME any more, like you used to!! ha ha ha ha
I'll still gladly take your criticism, because I have learned so much from you, I actually LIKE it......oh dear, I do believe I just got myself into more trouble............
Your prize pupil.....
Dana
Dana,
The one thing I try to pass onto my students is the Love of Photography... Without passion you can capture a picture.... with passion you capture a Photograph!
I see pictures all the time.... I always look for the Photographs...

That is how I am now!! I frame them in my mind and decide whether it would really be a good picture or not.....so you have definitely helped to create the photography passion here.....really........
.......................and you probably didn't realize that someday the help you were giving me would get me through leaving my baby daughter at college.......Thanks, friend.

.........except now I'm tearing up here........
::::::::::sigh::::::::::
Dana,
Sooner or later you have to let them go... take comfort in knowing that you've done the best job you could raising her! Now it's her time to show herself and the world what she has become!
Of couse this is all easy for me to say.... my daughter is only 14.....
Jon
Yeah, about that, Jonathan......LOL -- you will feel it someday.
HOWEVER, I will say this. Knowing that they are serving the Lord and living their lives for Him really does take a little of the sting out of having Lindsey 1400 miles away from home, as it did when her brother left home 7 years ago now. I have not spent my days crying over it, even though I do miss her very much. I have decided to look at this as a new chapter in my life, and do some things that I have put off for a while........like something as simple as sitting for a couple of hours every afternoon and reading.......or learning this new photoshop elements program......or just whatever I want to do.......go out on more dates with my husband.....there's plenty to do!!! But it really does help to know where they stand spiritually.....and prayer helps, too!!

I have not been to this board as I cannot view the pics..something in my computer
I used to totally enjoy landscapes and still do, however going thru my albums I will share
photos of faces..it is not easy to do faces in the USA as people are camera shy..

Judy, you do have a way of capturing faces that reaches into the heart, seriously......it's as though your camera has emotions......

I'm not sure I have a favorite, but I like to take photos of critters, still life and landscape/sunsets. Here are some of my favorites.
