And the answer is... The Steelers
GREAT! Wisconsin has something to be proud of besides cheese.
(Forgive me, I do live in Kansas City and you know we ain't got much to be proud of sportswise!)

I moved in to my Kansas City apartment on April 1, 1985 (anticipating starting at NTS that fall). My first Sunday in town, I went to my first KC area Nazarene church. That Tuesday, the pastor of that church took me to the Royals home opener. The year ended with the Royals taking the title over the Cardinals in the I-70 series.
I probably went to more baseball games in the three years I lived in KC than the rest of my life combined. I don't follow baseball much these days but the Royals will always hold a special place in my heart.

Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death! And to those in the tombs, bestowing life!

You have an amazing sense of timing! If you had lived here at any other time and been a Royals or Chiefs fan, you would know firsthand what "longsuffering" means (perhaps not as well as Cubs fans know it). The I-70 series was a super time for KC. By the way, last week they blew up the George Brett Bridge over I-70 to replace it. Don't know if that is a good omen or not.

When we moved to KC in the summer of 2003, the Royals were decent. While they finished 7 games out of first, there was some excitement down the stretch as they had a chance. It was even what one might call a race to the play-offs. Some new friends of ours from church invited us to go to a game. When I asked him how much the tickets were, where they were seated, etc., he said, "Oh, we always get them when we go."
Being from Boston, it was at that point that I realized that these guys weren't too used to division races. Despite my warning that there would likely not be tickets available just before the game, they insisted that we'd be fine.
We didn't get in. That doesn't happen often in KC.
