I've been thinking a lot about Heaven lately. I don't know the specifics of Heaven but I believe it will be a place of happiness, joy and being in the continuing presence of God. I'm actually starting to look forward to it which I never really did in the past.
Thanks Benjamin Burch - "thanks" for this post

It is a world of sin that brings death already - Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life."

God simply gives life to those who are in Christ, and resurrects them to live in the age to come.
Interesting thought and isn't this what the JW believe.

Few people are so wrong that they are wrong all the time. Hey, I even sometimes agree with Marcus!

I have no idea what the JW believe.

Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death! And to those in the tombs, bestowing life!
Χριστὸς ἀνέστη ἐκ νεκρῶν, θανάτῳ θάνατον πατήσας! καὶ τοῖς ἐν τοῖς μνήμασι, ζωὴν χαρισάμενος!

I can't remember if I have posted here so her goes....

Heaven exists and people go there, eventually. It may also be considered a second Eden, paradise as well. It is a place where the light of God shines and has several descriptions of it. New Jerusalem, and the idea of an earthly kingdom/paradise seems to deal with the millennial reign of Christ on earth. But this thread is about hell so....

Hell/the grave is a place that we all go after death, some go to rest such as Lazarus or sleep (Samuel and Daniel )awaiting the day of the resurrection. Others go there and find it a very unpleasant reality not a place of rest but a place of torment, such as the rich man. They suffer until the resurrection as well.
After the resurrection we will all be judged, first by who we belong to. Those whose name is written in the book of life will move on to the next life AND will receive according to what they have done. Those whose names are not found in the book of life suffer the second and final death. They cease to exist for all eternity. They are done. Hell is done away with and Satan and all his buddies.

    Thoughts?.....

Apart from the sleeping, I pretty much agree.

Just heard a great sermon on hell from the late Adrian Rogers: Whether you agree with him theologically or not, his powerful oratory and sincerity are hard to resit. An excellent sermon and IMO we don't have messages like this delivered enough from our pulpits.

That depends on the church you go to.

I went for the first option, simply because Bible tells me so. Our danger can be "Did God say?"...yes He did!
