For those who don't know, Stone grew up in the CotN and though teaching at Boston University's School of Theology (actually, he's the associate dean now), still has many friends in the CotN, and for all I know, maintains his elder credentials. We had a great thread on his best book (IMO), Evangelism After Christendom before The Crash. Perhaps I'll begin another on that book because if I had only one book to have church leaders read in the world (after scripture), it would be this one, despite it's depth.
Anyway, a group of us are going to go through this book this summer: Faith & Film: Theological Themes at the Cinema. Bryan takes the Apostles' Creed and breaks it down line-by-line, suggesting related or theme-related films. I'm looking forward to it. You can see the list of movies (chapter listing) and read the intro at Amazon.
I'll post thoughts and/or a review throughout.
