I need a cost effective way to get audio Bible to my ladies

    HELP PLEASE

I need to find a cost effective way to get audio Bible to some of my ladies. Our women's group is reading through the Bible together and some of the ladies have great difficulty with reading. Even the New International Reader's Version, which reads at a third grade level, is too difficult for some of them.

Most of the ladies have very basic phones with which they can access the internet but because they are not smart phones I have not been able to access any of the online programs. They do not all have mp3 players...I am just at a loss as to how to do this.

    Any suggestions?

(it is not ideal but right now I am bringing my laptop up to church during the Wed night meal and letting people listen that way)

Years ago there were tons of Bibles on cassettes. Perhaps, besides some folks still having those cassettes they could donate, there are some who also have some old cassette players around that they could pass on, too? Might solve the dilemma for a few at least, while you figure out something else, too?

Faith Comes By Hearing has a self contained "Bible Stick" MP3 player. It's a small MP3 Player that only plays the bible. http://www.faithcomesbyhearing.com/s...ected=10&ver=7

Unfortunately though, it looks like they are not particularly cheap at $29 a piece. Oh upon further review, this MP3 player will only hold the NT.

A much better option would be to buy your ladies a Sylvania 1 GB MP3 player (it's even pink) from Amazon for $10 and load the bible onto it for them (free MP3 bibles available from Faith Comes By Hearing). The church could own them and loan them out or you could just give them to the ladies:

One thought I just had, you'll want to make sure that the MP3 bible is less that 1 GB. I would bet that it is, but you want to make sure.

Oh, one other thing, if you get them MP3 Players, it might be beneficial to add some uplifting Christian music from various genre's as well - that would add to the cost because ethically you'd need to pay for a copy of each song for each mp3 player - but it could be a nice touch if you can afford it.
