Logitech webcam and Skype

We have both to communicate in sight and sound to our out-of-state family members. Yesterday we had an issue that I could not correct and am hoping someone here can help me.

My written instructions are:

A) Click camera icon - desktop - when connected green light will show

B) Click "capture"

C) Click Skype icon - desktop - choose family member from list

If they are on line we should see them, as well as them see us, plus there should be a small image of us on our monitor/them larger image and vice versa at their end.

Yesterday we could see them but they could not see us.

Anyone here to help this OLD geezer?
