    Boehm's Chapel

Earlier in the month, I visited Boehm's Chapel UMC south of Lancaster, PA for their apple festival. It is the oldest building in PA built exclusively for Methodist use. Martin Boehm was one of the founders of the United Brethren Church, which is one of the parent churches for the United Methodist Church. These five I touched up.

Some sources say that Boehm, or one of the United Brethren bishops was took part in the consecration of Francis Asbury as the first American Methodist bishop - this would've been at Methodism's 1784 Christmas Conference in Baltimore, nearly two hundred years before the two church unite to form the UMC.

I threw my notes away, but I forget if it was Martin or his son Henry who was involved in the consecration of Asbury. I think it was the son. With Martin and Otterbein [the two founders of the UB], it is obvious how closely knit the UB [later EUB] and Methodism were because towards the end of both their lives they were attending Methodist services.
