    BSU had visitors

for the Air Force game last Saturday from the New Orleans Sugar Bowl. I see that some prognosticators are projecting BSU v. Oklahoma State in the Sugar Bowl.

If OSU stays unbeaten, they will play in the BCS Championship Game. It is in the Sugar Bowl. However, Boise Sate won't be playing in that game.

Coach, you left out "won't be playing in that game 'even if they are the only undefeated team in the nation.'"

That is right. Boise Junior College will not be playing in the BCS Championship Game even if they are the only undefeated team in the nation. You can't play a second rate schedule and expect to run with the big boys.
Thanks Bob Hunter - "thanks" for this post

Now today BSU had visitors in the Big East commish and other reps. The Big East school presidents are to get together next Tuesday. Perhaps then we will find out if an invitation will be extended but for football only and if they do join the Big East for football all of the other sports are excluded from the MWC. That might send the other sports back to the WAC.

How can you be in the Big East when you are in western Idaho?

I don't like the idea either but the Idaho Steelheads hockey team is in the ECHL now that the WCHL disbanded and I don't think that going to the Big East would be fair to the other sports teams. Our wrestlers compete in the PAC 12, the gymnasts go into the MWC as well as the golfers, tennis and track etc. But who am I to say what the powers that be will decide. The Big East is hoping for a package deal whereby along with BSU, the Air Force Academy, SMU and Houston will help make up a Western division.

Why don't they just add Hawaii while they are at it.
