Hey New England friends, I'm looking for a church in New Hampshire..

This time it's not for me, directly.

I have a member that's going to be in Hanover/Lebanon, NH area for about the next three months. She's doing a temp "traveling" job at a big hospital there. Is there a Church of the Nazarene there I can direct her to?

I'm happy to report that she came to me asking!

Glad she inquired! Unfortunately, and sadly, there are none within an hour's drive. We had a church plant in Lebanon, and a small church in Claremont, but neither is operational now. Loudon, NH is a long hour east, and Peggy will need to help with Vermont church locations. There is a church plant in Henniker - almost as far as Loudon - and I am not aware of that group's pastoral leadership right now. Nazarene churches in Vermont are mainly in the northern part of the state, and our churches in New Hampshire are primarily in the southern part. Lebanon is exactly in the middle.

Dartmouth Hitchcock hospital is a great medical facility. Likely it will be an interesting term of service for her.

For those who remember the conversion testimony of Dr. Chic Shaver, Dartmouth College is where he received his undergraduate degree. While there, he attended the Nazarene church in Claremont. It was tiny in those days, too. I remember Dr. Shaver saying that the first day he attended he went all the way down and sat on the next to the front pew - it also was the next to the back pew. Actually, they were not pews, but rows of chairs. But it was the church in which Chic Shaver was discipled, and eventually received his call to preach. The church no longer meets there, but somehow it seems her influence has carried on literally around the world. I wonder how many have come to faith through the ministry of Dr. Shaver, and his thousands of seminary students. Maybe it wasn't quite a failure.

The North Haverhill, NH church is about an 45 minutes north of Hanover.

The Keene, NH church is a little over an hour south. John Reilly will be happy to arrange transportation.

Either church is along I-91 and isn't a bad drive.

p.s. when I clicked reply with quote Dennis must have been editing his original quote - all of a sudden there was an extra paragraph.

    Hi Wilson,
Yes; I'd say the No. Haverhill NH church, Trinity Nazarene, where George Hemway pastors, is the closest, and I would guess it is about 45 minutes, maybe less. I can connect her to Linda and Bob MacNeil there if she'd like, she can email me at < mcscarney@gmail.com >. We'd love to have her come to Keene as well!
