Time for a fun poll. (I didn't see one in a quick search.)

Superbowl? Are they going ahead and having that even though the Packers got beat in the playoffs? What's the point?

I think Indianapolis is counting on it. Last time I was there not a single orange pylon was blocking the street past the convention center. It has been years since that street was completely open. Having the Super Bowl coming to town was maybe the incentive needed to get things finished up.

Thanks for letting me know who is playing, Mark. That might come in handy when they turn the game on at our Super Bowl gathering. I'm glad I have NazNet to keep me up on these things.

    Re: Superbowl Pick

I think this is a very even game. The Pats offense is slightly better than the Giants', but the Giants' defense is a bit better than the Pats' defense. It should be a good game.

I am more excited for the commercial featuring Matthew Broderick reprising his role as Ferris Bueller.

You left out one option: I don't care, or I don't want either one to win. I will watch the game anyway, though.

A classmate of mine at Olivet is a finalist for the Doritos commercial. I'm hopeful he receives enough votes for his commercial to air!

I DID leave it out, but acknowledged it in the poll (no 5th option for voting this time).

    Any other voters?

12 think the Pats will win; 9 think they won't. That's a 3 point spread (in voting so far).

I see that no one has taken you up on your sale.

    Re: Superbowl Pick

I had a chance to go to the NFL Experience downtown on Thursday night. The biggest attraction was the chance to kick a field goal. Authentic NFL ball, regulation goal posts, simulated field turf that is at Lucas Oil stadium. I was there on what was the least busiest night, and still had to wait an hour. I went for a 40 yarder...had the distance, but was wide right. I did notice that Giants fans drink more, talked more trash, but made more kicks (not sure if there is a connection between the 3 things).

Regardless of who wins, hosting the Super Bowl has been a great thing for the city of Indianapolis.

Almost as good as hosting General Assembly. I guess we're no longer the biggest event to come to town.

Since there have been no takers on my gracious offer, I've decided to make a firm prediction as to the winner. I checking out all the stats - one on one matchups, road wins versus losses, astrological forecasts - the works. Once I've compiled all the data I'll post my prediction right here on NazNet for all to see.

I expect to be ready to do that about 8:00 Central time on Sunday evening.

    Re: Superbowl Pick

I picked the Patriots in the Pick 'em league I'm in, but other than that I don't really care. It would be different if the Colts were playing. Friends and relatives in Indianapolis have been posting pictures on Facebook of the crowds downtown. It's quite a difference from General Assembly.

I clicked that I wanted the Giants to win and that they would but that is really only because family members are anti-Patriots. I really don't care enough about Football to have an informed opinion. I also realized that in my church, with several ENC grads in it, not to broadcast this too loudly. But I watched it while I crocheted at the gathering at my pastor's house. The 'sitdown' touchdown was quite humorous IMHO and I left a happy camper

Yes, that was a surreal moment.

    Re: Superbowl Pick

Well, on NazNet (this poll) I picked that I wanted the Giants to win, but thought the Patriots would. In our local online u-pickem game, I just went ahead and picked the Giants. Only 58 out of 388 participants made this correct prediction. I had been within a hairs-breadth of the leader before the playoffs began, then I slid down to position 100+ before the Super Bowl. I finished 31st. Yeah Giants! (and this from a Steelers fan)
