Jim I'm going with Michigan, Boston College, Miami, and FSU. Ferris State will win it all. Can you believe the National Championship isn't until April 7 this year. So much for March Madness..its crept into April Now. What are your picks ?

This might be the most ridiculous Final Four outcome I've seen this year. Everyone knows 3rd times a charm for Butler this year

I didn't think Kansas had a prayer this year....but they have been in the top 10 much of the year and beat Missouri in OT yesterday!

Bill you must be looking at a different set of rankings than I have been watching. As far as I know, KU doesn't even sport a hockey team. I think they have a club but are not elgible for the final four. C'mon! That goes for Butler too David. sure they were good in 2000 winning the ACH championship but now their club is more interested in LaCross. Good luck with that!

My money is on Amherst this year. They'll likely get favorable positioning in the bracket (due out this afternoon).

Forgive me....around here "Final Four" (as per the thread title) means ONLY one thing; basketball! And as always KU is expected to be there

No kidding the Jeffs look like the team to beat! Its been what nearly 4 years since they've been in the playoffs?? Not sure why they didn't compute into my final four but my brackets are locked so there is no turning back. Go Ferris !

No worries Bill, but you might want to post in more appropriate thread. This one is on ICE.

No, I believe you're mistaken. They're in the tournament nearly every year. They've got the longest active home winning streak right now. Lots of experience. They're pretty good. They won't even be challenged until they likely face MIT in the elite eight.

my bad, I've been away too long. About the name of tourney. I remember the name change in '99 to Frozen Four and we ALL thought it was SO lame. Glad Franklin is a traditionalist and is calling it what it really is !

Dr. Coach Poteet, what would your life be like if Boise State wasn't available to kick around.

Really? How confusing. The Jeffs are in the Hockey tourney this year.. thats what I thought you were referring. Added to the confusion is that they are in the other sport (basketball) championship tourney and that UMass Amherst is also looking for entry into the Hockey tourney. I must really be obtuse for thinking that Franklins thread would be about a final four outside of Hockey. Sorry for the confusion.

Ok without following one sports story on NCAA Basketball let me predict the entrants into the elite 8.

remember this is a blind pick... totally blind.

    KU
    Kentucky
    Duke
    Indy
    Syracuse
    LVN
    Missouri
    the Spiders

Re: Any speculation on which teams

Well, it's been decided. I watched Amherst lose to a lesser team last night and tonight the final four were decided:

MIT, Illinois Wesleyan, Wisconsin-Whitewater, and Cabrini.

An unlikely grouping to say the least, Whitewater will be the prohibitive favorite in Salem, Virginia next weekend.

Just saw the Elite 8 bracket and was a bit disappointed that I only got 3 out 8 correct in my totally blind pick (ie i had NOT followed one NCAA sports story this season) - total blackout. It looks like I might could have been 5 out of 8 had Mizzou and Indie both high seeds not been upset in the first round) NCAA basketball is a bit like the major leagues, where you know the power teams will always be in the running. Ok KU to win it all.

I watched the game on CBS. Brad Jackson, the Western Washington coach, is married to a Nazarene, who grew up up on the Washington Pacific district.

No, Dr. Coach Jim, it is College of Southern Idaho at Twin Falls that generally goes high in the community college tournament, having won several national championships and came in second this year and has produced several players who have gone on to major universities and pro careers.

Do you who the first basketball coach was at the College of Southern Idaho? The program began in 1967, I believe.

Seems like it was Trimble who later went to OK Srate and then to Arkansas.

You struck out again. The first College of Southern Idaho basketball coach was Eddie Sutton. He was extremely successful and parlayed that success into the coaching job at Creighton University.
