I ran across two videos today that I found interesting. In the first video a lioness adopts a young antelope. The second clip I found especially moving. A female leopard kills an adult baboon. While she dragging the carcass up a tree she notices that a baby baboon is clinging to its dead mother. She seems puzzled at first and then takes the day old baby to safety and defends the baby rather than the kill. She begins caring for the baby and mothering it. Sadly the baby dies during the night of hypothermia and only after the death of the baby does she go feed on the adult baboon she killed earlier. The second clip was from a documentary called Eye of the Leopard and is well worth watching.
The lion will lie down with the "lamb"
...and the leopard will lie down with the baboon (begins 1:08)
