    Tebow to the Jets

This is going to be fun!

If you think there was a circus around Tebow in Denver,...

    My predictions:

    Mark Sanchez will self-destruct

Half of the NY fans will love Tebow, and half will loathe him (this is NY after all)

And Rex Ryan will spontaneously combust by game 6.

As a Patriots fan, I love this!

(And I feel sorry for Tebow.)

Rex Ryan, you mean? Isn't Rex Reed the alter ego of a superhero?

I'm not surprised the Jets went after him. They have some wildcat stuff in their playbook. And I'm sure they remember getting Tebowed in Denver last year on a last minute Tebow run. I don't think Rex Ryan and Tebow are a good fit. Tebow really belongs on the Patriots in special packages and goal line situations. Bill Belicheck could do wonders with Tebow. I seriously think the Patriots are going to have a very good team next year and make another run at the Super Bowl. The Jets will go 8-8 with or without Tebow.

Tebow's salary advance is causing issues with the trade, he could be headed to St. Louis if the Jets won't pony up and extra $5m.

    Rick Reilly's predictions:

    1. Tebow could unseat Sanchez by Week 3, but Jets receivers will need step ladders.

    2. By week 5, Tebow will have Snooki at Bible study.

    3. New Rex Ryan: "Now let's go get our golly-dang snack!"

If Tebow goes to the Jets...By week two he'll be spotted at Times Square handing out tracks for Jews For Jesus.

I can assure you, Tebow is hating this. He does not want to be put in an experimental offensive role under Rex Ryan (Who tells fans to eff off). He has said repeatedly that he wants to be an NFL QB and anything short of that is not acceptable. If the New York trade happens, I predict it will be an absolute disaster and Tebow will hate every minute of it. I'm sure Tebow's agent will not get any sleep until this deal is undone some way somehow.

Well you have a point Greg! Tebow to the Jets would make the circus just that much bigger. Seriously, Rex Ryan is already quite colorful, I can't imagine Tebow a Jet. The situation would create an endless source of media fodder. People would get sick of hearing it, and they will only win about 8 games or so.

    Re: Tebow to the Jets

Seems like a bad idea for both the Jets and Tebow.

There aren't many good places for Tebow- If I were him I would have hoped for the Patriots- I think they could have pulled off using him as a slash/wildcat guy without the likely chaos of the NYJ's.

I understand he could have chosen the Jets or the Jags, but if the Jags coaches didn't really want him and just told him he could compete in a pro-syle offense that would not have been good for him either.

Tebow to Jets = GOOD FIT ! The Jets have their thinking caps on straight. Lets see TEBOW considers New York or Jacksonville hmmm or New York or St Louis Hmmmm. Tebow is HAPPY! Jets will now be able confound defensive coordinators around the league as they prep for both Sanchez and Tebow. Journalist get something to write, Fans get something to Gawk at, and the team sells more advertising at a higher rate..Brilliant.

And he will probably live next door to Jerry Seinfeld and receive a marriage proposal from Lady Gaga. Yeap, brilliant move for Tebow.

Tebow may not become the biggest sports celebrity in American Sports history. Tebow + New York media = uncontainable.

Rex Ryan says, "There will be no QB controversy, Sanchez is the starter." John Fox said the same thing last year in Denver. I would NEVER say that, but then, Rex Ryan regularly sticks his foot in his mouth.

It is impossible for anyone to do a better job than Tebow did at his introductory press conference for the Jets. He was just amazing, defusing every possible controversy.

I don't know why I even would mention such a possibility, but it would be nice if the NY media would leave him alone. He will be noticed every time he glances at a woman, and maybe even if he doesn't. As Mike said, his press conference was stellar. But somewhere down the line, someone will discover that when he was six he stole a cookie from his mother, or later discovered his masculinity. I predict that when that happens, he will confess it, admit the struggle, and give God glory to forgiveness and helping him.

I think there is a lesson in leadership here. Tebow responds so well to his critics. Apparently, some Jet players tweeted out some negative remarks when the trade was announced and Tebow returned nothing but kindness. I can't say I have always done that. He also commented that he would work hard to earn respect in the locker room. I think the Jets are very happy with this move, and it may serve them very well.
