"What is your favorite animal"

Little Johnny's teasher asked him? "Fried Chicken" he responded. Thinking he was smarting off he was sent to the principal. Upon hearing the facts of the matter he said "It seems your answer aggravated your teacher, try not to do it again." When Johnny got home he told his dad, who then asked him if his answer was the truth to which Johnny affirmed. "Always stick to the truth, son, your teacher may be one of those PETA people." Next day his teacher asked him the same question and remembering the admonition of both the principal and his dad, he answered "Chicken." She asked the reason for his answer to which Johnny replied, "Because you can make fried chicken with them and that is the truth." Again he was sent to the principal. After telling the principal what his dad had told him he was told to try giving some other kind of answer. The next day the teacher asked Johnny who his all time favorite hero was and Johnny replied, "Colonel Sanders."

Beautiful dog, Jim, but you probably are unaware that the Lakota Sioux raise certain breeds for "shuckapallawahumpy."

Shuckapallawahumpy is the Lakota Sioux word for dog soup. Did not think Jim would sant to know this and I am not trying to be mean but I thought someone might be curious as to what the term meant.

Must be big fat and lazy dogs. Skinny dog's are too gamey and tough.

That was the situation on the Res. in South Dakota when I lived there in the early 50s. Not sure whether it still is common. Wes Smith might have been aware of such as his family was living only about 30 miles away at the time.
