at the elementary level and at one point I encountered dhildhood logic of this nature:
Teacher is trying to get a youngster to understand subtraction. Whe says to the child, We have 5 pencils and you take away 3 how many do you have?" "Three"the child answers. "No there are only 2" the teacher responds. But the child says "No way, see here I have three."
