Some photos of Cody WY & Yellowstone

Just a teaser for what I can provide. These pictures were taken with my phone so the quality isn't as high as a professional camera.

This was taken in Yellowstone in October. It was about the last day the road from the east entrance was open. We had to wait about an hour for them to open the road.

This picture was taken across the street from our church looking down on the west end of Cody. Every time I go to church I can't help but thank God for his wonderful creation.

This is a picture from along the Chief Joseph highway. It connects from Cody to Cooke City, MT which is where the Northeast Entrance to Yellowstone is.

This is an example of an RV in Wyoming! Yes, some guy took an old bus and covered in logs. We all got a good laugh out of that one. This kind of goes along with a favorite sport my family has started. We see who can be the quickest to spot the rental RV's and the cowboy hats!

A wonderful day trip is to drive from Cody to Yellowstone through the east entrance. The 50 miles to the Entrance is incredible. You first come across Yellowstone lake and then you can turn right to see the Canyon area. You will cross the plains and then exit out the Northeast entrance and travel the Chief Joseph Highway back into Cody. I can't think of too many drives that are better. I know there are many that are pretty close, but this one is good.

My Dad was pastor at Casper First Church back in the 1970's.......your pictures bring back lots of great memories of that time. Casper Mountain, Yellowstone, and other sites were great places for a young man to explore!

Well, I guess as long as no one tries to tell me I don't really live in Cody, that I am just trying to make people think I live in Cody, so that I can actually send them Death Valley! Sorry, couldn't resist. Perhaps this area will be a lot more fun to hang out in.

This a photo I took on the bridge to our local Ski Hill. It is 3 miles outside Yellowstone. I drive the Ski Bus for the City most Saturdays along with driving school bus during the week.

Funny Yes, this is a much more fun place to hang out in. Love the pics - specially of the snow!

As I noted in a post onanother forum, my first and only time in Cody was a number of years ago enroute east from Yellowstone. Even though it was in September the only room I could find was at the Buffalo Bill Antlers Motel (clean and the cable worked). The next morning I continued east and in a couple of hours wound up at the foot of the Big Horn Mts (a range I had NO idea was there). Incredibly beautiful country.

    Beautiful country!

Whenever I see scenery like this in real life, my mind immediately goes to the words of a song. "Were the whole realm of nature mine, that were a present far too small!"

And to think that He created all of this just for us!

To know and to serve God, of course, is why we're here, a clear truth, that, like the nose on your face, is near at hand and easily discernible but can make you dizzy if you try to focus on it hard. But a little faith will see you through.

The Canyon area in Yellowstone Park

Taken Mid Way down about 1000 stairs!

    Taken at the top

Taken near one of the mud flats. Life in the middle of a toxic environment. Just kind of reminded me of ourselves from time to time.

Oh, I need to come stay at your house and ride that bus with you and then ski all day long. I love skiing, but don't get to do it much in Arkansas.

You would like this ski hill. It only has 2 lifts but has about 40 different runs with an area for tricks for snow boarders. They only have about 200 people on a given day so you can usually ski right up to the lift each time without waiting.

It has been cool for me to get to know the people who ride the bus.

Taken outside our church in Cody following our morning service.

A panoramic view with my phone camera.

My phone didn't really pick up all of the detail of the rain bands or some of the mountains that were showing beneath the clouds.

I've made 2 trips to Yellowstone and I'd be ready to go several times more. It is one of the most fascinating places in these United States.

Here are some photos of Boysen State park which is between Thermopolis and Riverton Wyoming. It isn't really my kind of reservoir due to the fact that it is in a dessert setting with no trees, but I did try to take some pictures that showed the beauty it does have.

I love your pictures. I have been to Yellowstone three times and always enjoy it. I was there as a teenager with my parents, as a young adult with friends, and more recently with my husband. I loved it every time. I have been through Cody also. What a beautiful scene of God's handiwork coming out of church!!!
