    I won an iPad 3

    Last weekend at the Northwest Region's Main Event (a youth talent competition and worship weekend) I grudgingly - because I'm not a big fan of silly youth games - participated in The Youth Pastor Games. It was touted as Hunger Games meets Fear Factor (minus any killing).

    I made it through the first two rounds by naming more Hebrew holidays than Lucas Finch and then drinking a jar of nasty foods (not sure all that was in it but it included caviar, sardines, pig feet and more) blended together, topped with whipped cream and a live worm (a big one). I drank it all and advanced to the final round.

    The final round was a timed competition of physical activities and math. I finished with the fastest time and won an iPad 3. Kinda cool. I contemplated just selling it and using the money for something else, but I ended up keeping it. It will prolong the life of my 2007 MacBook Pro which is fading fast.

    I ended up taking the 3 back to the store and exchanging it for a refurbished iPad 2. The one I won was a 16 gb and I could get a 32 gb iPad 2 for $50 less than the 3. I'm really enjoying it so far and am getting used to it.

    So... I have a pretty good grasp of what apps I need and want, but does anyone have some suggestions of what is useful/enjoyable for them?

    Not super familiar with apple apps (android guy) ,but congrats......winning stuff is pretty awesome ....oh and angry birds space

    Ha. Thanks. I figured someone would throw out Angry Birds.

    I used to be an Android guy too until I decided to switch to iPhone. I like the iPhone better. But now I just go with the old school phone and don't really care between Android or Apple

    Lol it probably wasn't fair... I was a math major my first two years of college. But they were only subtraction and multiplication problems. It was fun playing with Sherwin. Is he at Marysville?

    Yeah he mentioned you were a math major. (This is when we agreed it wasn't fair! Of course we may have not been entirely objective about the whole thing) Yes he is my associate and Youth pastor. - BTW congratulations! We love him, he is making me look like a hiring genius.

    I think Hebrew Holidays questions for youth pastors aren't fair.

    I'm typing this on my new iPad (3). Just arrived today via FedEx. It was interesting tracking it as it went from China to Alaska to Tennessee to my door.

    So... I don't really have much experience with the iPad yet, but some of my prior apps from my iPhone that I'm installing right now include:
