I know I am late arriving at my youngest granddaughter’s four year celebration as the cake is almost gone. The backyard is filled with a blow-up bounce machine; this one has a slide which the girls and boys enjoy with maxed out activity and giggles. It is time for Megan to open her presents. Megan pulls a tin Barbie princess purse out of a gift bag. With a smile from ear-to-ear splashed across the face of her little friend Gabriella (the two could be sisters as they both have blonde hair and sweet-sweet four year old faces) she says softly, “I put those things in there just for you Megan.” Out of the never-ending-bottom-purse, Megan pulls out an assortment of large round suckers, a matching purple bead necklace and bracelet, and several good size sticks of chalk art.
Megan's Nana is privy to watch friendship in its purest form. Thank you Gabriella when you freely show your love for your friend by putting together your four year old birthday gift “just for Megan.”
