    A singing lesson

    Today's lesson: Phraseology
Oh, say can you see (No, don't breathe here) by the dawn's early light. (Breathe here)
What so proudly we hailed (Nor here) at the twilight's last gleaming? (Breathe here too)
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight, (And here)
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming? (And again, here)
And the rocket's red glare, (Breathing is optional ) the bombs bursting in air, (Musically, it would be good to not breathe here)
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. (Big Breath here)
Oh, say does that star-spangled (NO NO NO. DO NOT take a breath here!!!) banner yet wave (You get the point.)
O'er the land of the free ( No showy mellismatic passages that make the song all about you) and the home of the (bring it on home with a straight forward, solid, on pitch...) brave. http://www.naznet.com/community/imag...f:smilies1722:

When there's a comma, you can breathe. When there's not, don't. If at all possible.

What I absolutely hate is when someone breathes in between syllables. AAACCCKKKK!!!

& when breathing, do it quietly ...

How about this one? This gal's song they like to play yet after a couple of years, and ~~ with every breath being a loud gasp(!) ~~ I often just have to turn it from that station for awhile. LIKE the lyrics, etc, but that gasping ... have kept thinking, "Why did not someone teach her to breathe properly/quietly!? Who let that become permanent without fixing it!?"

Well, looking for the song in the form about which I wrote here, kept finding lyrics (or ringtone deal) ... however, looks like she learned to breathe right. Found this live one (just listened to half of it), and only heard one slight slip in the breathing (not so bad), so guess this was bro't to her attention as it sounds much better in this video (let's play this one on radio, eh, instead of the gaspy one!).

Well, listened to second half of the above, & she got caught up in the song, forgetting 2-3x more, but still not so bad/loud as that one we hear on radio!
