up to 2 feet of snow is predicted this weekend in Yellowstone Park. I hope this FYI helps you keep a little bit cooler.

Well its not winter out here yet, but this morning I had a good layer of ice over the front windscreen. I have a feeling that its going to be a cold winter.

My Hoosier cousins warned me that they were sending their 95 degree heat to me. I told them they really didn't have to.

It's in the 90's here in AR with very high humidity, and we haven't even hit the hot part of the year yet.

We didn't get 2 feet of snow and I am pretty sure it was only the highest peaks got that much since most roads were open before the end of Friday. Here is a look as the storm moved in.

    Early in the day

In the evening before going to bed.

    Early in the morning.

We got about 5 inches. It was about 33 degress most of the day Friday and then warmed up into the low 40s on Saturday. Today, Sunday, we have a thunderstorm rolling in with heavy rain.

The tourists are spending most of their time at the museum and indoors.

Almost 30 years ago, in June, we stayed just outside Yellowstone on one of our trips to Idaho, and it snowed overnight.

We stayed in Yellowstone on our honeymoon in early August 1962 in a rustic cabin for $3 and were provided a gunny sack full scrap lumber and bits of slash to keep the pot bellied stove keeping it reasonably warm

Our daytime temps the last few days have been in the high 80's. But I've got a tall birch tree that shades a lot of my back deck and I can sit out there are look up at the mountains enjoying a nice breeze. Life is good.

You didn't have anything like that in Carthage, I know for sure, John.
