I said "Yes" as thats what Bible teaches. Do I think its fair....often No. Some could say, "But wait a minet what chance did I have, born cursed by sin?". In end I have to settle for...God is just.

I'm not sure that Ian was saying that God "did something to us". I think he's simply saying that it can look unfair to say that the consequence of sin has been passed down to us even though we didn't take part in the first act--kind of like saying that if someone's great-great grandfather was a horse thief, the great-great grandchild shouldn't be trusted to drive someone else's car.
I know that is NOT how original sin works, but it can certainly seem to have that appearance if not understood properly.

This all depends on one's view. If we are born in sin we autmaticaly sin, are sinners. Also we are born to die, even before we can sin, because of Adams sin. I'm very orthodox in my beleifs, theology. I beleive God is just, and that Christ paid the price of Gods justice requierments for us. But many will still wonder, hey why have I to suffer because of someone I never met?...Adam!

I am a Liberal Evangelical

"Preach the gospel; if necessary use words" is like saying "feed the poor and; if necessary use food."
Conservative tends to have more to do with how literally you take the bible and our traditions about it than any political bent. Liberals tend to be much looser about the overall specificity of the bible, and much more hardline on what we're supposed to be doing (i.e., social justice, etc.) But it's actually incredibly difficult to be more specific than that; everybody's begun to have their own definitions for the words, and the old standards no longer hold as well as they used to. That's what happens when you get to a point where almost nobody is a moderate anymore.
