Anyone else preaching the David narrative this Summer?

So I have decided to preach the lectionary passages out of 1-2 Samuel this summer - the David narratives. I was wondering if anyone else is doing this and if so wondering your weekly take on the passages, the themes you are following.

I'm not preaching from the "David" narratives, however, last week in my sermon: "Chosen for fruitfulness", my first point:
    1. God has a fruitful role for us all to play, and it is not only the apparently ‘important’ people
    who are worthy of acclaim.

Focussed upon the early life of David and how he faithfully used what he was given, even though initially it was small, and boldly served God with that. In the process, David grew in character and stature and God could use him in greater ways......

(BTW: As you would be aware one of the lectionary readings from last week was 1 Samuel 15: 34-16: 13. and so I drew illustration from there)

The adult curriculum for SS is following David in Samuel. My adults are enjoying the discussion. NPH did a great job with the teacher portion provided. I tend to use the NT text. I have been in 2 Cor. lately. It does feel like a David summer this year. Although with the upcoming Presdential election could be a good tie in ... King Barak Obama.
