I was not sure I liked where Ubuntu was going with UI so I have moved one of my laptops to Mint with Cinnamon.
Anyone else trying this Linux distro out? What do you think of it?

Interesting flavor combination. LOL
(What's with so many computer-related items having food names, anyway? Asked as I type on a Blackberry tablet, yet another food-related tech item.)

The UI kept locking up. Gave up on Mint and am now trying Pinguy OS.

Just saw this thread and thought I'd put in my 2 cents as a Linux SysAd and Linux nut... Ubuntu is a very solid version of linux. If you don't like the new desktop, try either Gnome (Linux Classic) or KDE. Gnome is installed by default and you can find KDE in the App Marketplace. You switch between them at the login screen. The great thing about Linux is that it is completely customizable and you can change many settings and even desktop managers without having to change the distro you use... Something that can't be said about Linux's Mac and Windows counterparts... If you have more questions about changing it let me know and I can send you something closer to a step-by-step but it really is an easy switch.

I believe Ubuntu's UI is moving toward a more tablet friendly look and feel.
One thing I know this tablet will not process is .exe files.
(no idea re linux suffixes)

I'm enjoying Pinguy OS, which is odd since it is more like Ubuntu than Mint. It also seems to borrow from Apple OS X. At some point I will probably try replacing the UIs on Ubuntu, since both Mint and Pinguy are pretty much pre-packaged Ubuntu distros with replaced UIs.

That would not be Blackberry's message. That is from the webpage you are on. Probably someone's poor attempt at identifying what device you are on in hope of getting you to perform some action that would compromise your device.

Thanks. Tho't it rather odd! Was hoping it was not an indication, too, of something already having been compromised!
